Home Theater Upgrade
![]()
Plan: To replace out the POS speakers and build a good Subwoofer. Enclosures will be made out of 3/4" thick Red Oak Plywood.
I am using the "MorePee" design from http://www.speakerbuilder.net/. With the change of using the RedOak Plywood instead of MDF...this should help with SAF (Spousal Approval Factor).
Current Equipment in the Home Theater:
Receiver: Kenwood VR-7080 7.1 THX 100W per channel.
TV: Hughes HDVR2 Series-2 DirecTIVO Receiver (Upgraded to 120GB HDD)
DVD: Pioneer
VCR: RCA 4-Head Stereo
TV: Sanyo 27" (Hopefully upgrade to 32" or 40" in the future)
HTPC: Home built. Currently a Celeron 850, 512MB RAM, Asus V3800 VIVO card, Onboard Ethernet & Sound. 120GB of DivX movies and MP3's. (this will be upgraded shortly to a better system with hardware MPEG2 video capture)
